Components of the kusum scheme
The kusum scheme can be divided into three components:
- Component 1: workers will setup 1000 MW capacity of ground mounted solar grid connected renewable power plant on barren land. Grids will be setup by the farmers, panchayats, water user associations (WUA) and framer producer organizations (FPO). Power projects can be setup within the radius of 5 km from the sub-station.
- Component 2: farmer will be install 17.50 lakh standalone solar power agriculture pumps. The state government gives a subsidy of 30% and the remaining 40% given by the farmers.
- Component 3: under this scheme the solarisation of 10 lakh grid connected individual agricultural pump
