Eligibility Criteria for Advance Canada Workers Benefit 2025
- To get the payment on time the workers need to meet the eligibility criteria. Eligibility depends up on the income threshold and residency along with the ITR return.
- The applicants must be a resident of Canada for the entire tax year.
- The applicants have to be at least of 19 years old by December 31, 2024 unless they are living with their partner or having any common-law partner or dependent child.
- On the net income ground, their adjusted net income must be below the specified maximum limit.
Who are not eligible?
You are eligible if you will meet these criteria. Such as:
- The applicant is a full time student of any recognized educational institution for over 13 weeks in the year unless you have an eligible dependent on December 31.
- You are there in the prison or have indulged in any criminal activity for at least 90 days during the year.
- If you are working as an officer or serving another country like a diplomat or in case if any of your family member is doing the same then also you are exempted from paying taxes in Canada.
- There is another form of supplement which is available for disable persons. To get this supplement the applicants need to be eligible for the disability tax credit by the approval of Form T2201. This is known as the Disability Tax Credit Certificate
- It has to be submitted to the Canada Revenue Agency.
- Your net income must be below the threshold established for your province or territory.
Payment date and Schedule for ACWB 2025 :
The beneficiaries will get the amount in January 10, July 12 and in October 11. So the next payment date is July 12. Procedure to Claim the Advance Canada Workers Benefit 2025 :
- If an individual wants to apply for ACWB then he/she has to file her/his tax return by November 1.
- The individuals have two options with them to apply.
- They can file their taxes online by using tax software or else if they want to do it manually then can fill the Schedule 6 to get the benefit.
- If someone is applying for disability supplement then he has to meet certain criteria. If you have a qualifying spouse and one of you qualifies for the disability tax credit then that individual should claim both the basic amount and the disability supplement.
- If you both are eligible for the disability tax credit then only one of you can claim the basic amount but both can submit the disability supplement on separate Schedule 6 forms.
- Applicants or claimants don’t need any separate or extra application procedure to get the ACWB. CRA will automatically give you the payment if you are eligible.
