- The investigation was done by Animal Recovery Mission. The agency has done its investigations from July to December 2024 at two dairy farms in Arizona that is Rainbow Valley Dairy and Butterfield Dairy which supply milk to Fairlife.
- After conducting the investigation, ARM found out various instances of cruelty. The findings were not normal in any such cases.
- They found out the cows are being brutally whipped, kicked and attacked with metal objects like screwdrivers, and knives.
- There were also reports of failed euthanasia attempts on animals.
- They also written in their report that cows were found to be lacking food, water, and necessary veterinary care.
- The abuse was reportedly systematic in which both employees and management were involved.
- The recorded footage has been shown as showcasing the most severe and widespread mistreatment ever seen within Fairlife’s supply chain.
Was it for the first time that they were being accused?
- And the answer is a big No. This was not the first time that Fairlife has faced criticism for animal abuse.
- ARM has conducted an investigation back in 2019 Windy Ridge Dairy an another supplie of this, uncovered similar mistreatment.
- As a response of the rage Mob, Fairlife has promised to improve oversight and enforce stricter animal welfare standards but that failed again.
- As the claim price the company has paid $21 million to settle a false advertising lawsuit linked to these issues.

What is the raw reality behind the brand’s false promises?
To enhance the brand value Fairlife has done so many fake promises towards the customers. They have said that their milk products are cleaner, healthier and sourced from farms with superior animal welfare. And the higer prices of the product is there to justify their quality. Fairlife’s highest priced products were the Fairlife Ultra-Filtered Milk, Core Power Protein Shakes and Fairlife Ice Cream. But as per the allegation, the lawsuit states that everything is fake as it is not maintaining the quality at all so where is the question of high piece and for what? This situation raises ethical questions about marketing practices and the authenticity of claims made by the company. If you are claiming something but unable to fulfil that, then what is the point.
Allegations on Fairlife is never ending. There are some environmental violations also. ARM reported that decaying animal remains near water sources and public parks in Arizona which caused algae blooms and environmental pollution. Large quantity of animal wastes was found. The marketing of methane digesters was harmful. These digesters primarily function as profit-making tools rather than true environmental remedies. Improper waste disposal in wildlife habitats disbalanced the natural balance and threatens biodiversity.
Another allegation was that the use of plastic bottles. The company claimed those as 100% recyclable but from the survey it was found that, the bottles are made from PET and it includes titanium oxide which is not good for the recycling process.
