DA Hike Latest Update: For central staff, there is good news. For the employees’ waiting dearness allowance, the three percent dearness allowance has been verified. The workers will greatly benefit from this. With the March salary, central employees will see an increase of Rs 2187 in their accounts. The dearness allowance for central employees has undergone a significant update. It is confirmed that central employees will receive a 3 percent increase in their dearness allowance. There is now no longer any doubt among the staff as to whether the increase will be two or three percent.
DA Hike Latest Update: Advantage for 1.15 crore workers
The increase in dearness allowance will directly benefit 15 lakh active and retired employees. The center is home to about 50 lakh government workers and 65 lakh retired workers. It is now established that this raises the dearness allowance, which benefits the workers and their families.
How Do They Determine Dearness Allowance?
The DA for central employees is now 53%. The Central Government uses the All India Consumer Price Index to calculate the Dearness Allowance every two years. The All-India Consumer Price Index data for the July–December 2024 period will be used to update the DA amount, which will take effect on January 1, 2025. Data on inflation rates may affect the aforementioned confirmation of a dearness allowance increase.
The DA will be raised by 3 percent
Employees and pensioners of the central government currently receive a 53 percent Dearness Allowance. According to recent AICPI data, the full 3% increase is all but guaranteed through December. In November, the inflation rate was .49; in December, it increased by 0.44. The rate of inflation stands at 55.99%. Since only the upper figure is counted once it crosses 0–50, it will only be regarded as 56 percent.

The salary will include the account’s arrears
When the center approves the increase of these allowances based on their figures at the next meeting, government employees and pensioners who are working on DA of 53% starting in July 2024 are anticipated to receive their March salaries plus two months’ arrears.
It would be a bumper salary increase
Central staff receive a base salary under the seven-pay commission. For instance, if an employee’s base pay is Rs 24,300, they will receive Rs 6226 per month, while their current salary contribution is Rs 12,879, which is based on a 53 percent DA. However, if DA is 56 percent, an additional Rs 13608 will be paid as a raise, with a salary increase of Rs 729 promised. Along with the January and February arrears, an additional Rs 2187 will be credited to the employees’ accounts at the same time.
